The 14th edition of the Encounters Short Film Festival takes place in the wonderful city of Bristol, UK from 18 - 23 November and once again we will be screening the very very best short films from around the universe!

Encounters offers an important platform for both new and established filmmakers to showcase their work and is the place to be inspired, to talk technology, share ideas and make new connections.  6 days of screenings, special events, workshops and masterclasses and those all important networking opportunities: the parties!

The Countdown has Begun

The countdown to the festival is now underway with the publication of this year's programme of screenings, awards, celebrity visitors, events, industry debates and the launch of a new online bookings service. This year's highlights including newly-rediscovered early animations by Alexander Shiryaev, new BBC comedies, the finalists for the 2008 DepicT! 90-second film challenge and the debut short by Turner Art Prize nominee, Sam Taylor Wood.

Guests confirmed include BAFTA-award-winning actor and director, Paddy Considine; triple Oscar winner, Richard Williams, and Clare Kitson, the former Channel 4 commissioner credited with rejuvenating Britain's animation industry.
