AbleCare
Homes are a family run company set up in 1983 when
we established our first home, Belvedere Lodge. Belvedere
Lodge was purchased as a family home and we converted
it ourselves, opening for business in 1984.
This was followed by Rosewood House
in 1990, an existing home with a purpose built courtyard
wing. Patron House is the smallest
of our homes and has been part of our group since 1997.
In 1998 Crossley House was added
and has since been expanded to make full use of the facilities
available. In April 2007 we have been delighted to acquire
Hengrove Lodge, this successful
family business fits perfectly within our existing portfolio
of care homes in Bristol and we look forward to maintaining
the excellent standard of care that the Home has achieved
in recent years.
Our emphasis is on family involvement and
this has continued as the business has evolved. The company
is owned and Managed by Father and Daughter team, John Willcox
and Sam Hawker. Sam is responsible for business development
and keeps track of current legislation and it’s implementation
in the homes. She calls in on a regular basis. Roger &
Paul Willcox strengthen the family involvement, they undertake
the maintenance work within the homes. |

Since
opening our first home the Company has ensured continued
development with the purchase of additional homes and the
creation of extra bed spaces within the scope of the buildings.
The owners flats have been converted to provide accommodation
for residents in Rosewood House, Patron House and Crossley
House.
The resident group accommodated has also evolved with the
changing needs of the elderly population. From offering
places to elderly only we now provide a dedicated number
of care places for elderly people with Alzheimer’s
Disease and Dementia at Belvedere Lodge and Crossley House. |
