It focuses on allowing us to grow towards our potential by working on ourselves and our children, with a special awareness of the power of pregnancy and new beginnings.
Well Mother's primary aim is to support the wisdom of parents and babies by promoting the use of bodywork, especially massage, shiatsu and exercise, as a core part of 21st century maternity care. We work both with parents (mainly in Bristol, UK) and health professionals (worldwide).
Shiatsu, massage, touch, movement and exercise are powerful tools in supporting women to contact the wisdom of their bodies in pregnancy, birth and postnatally and for parents to bond early with their developing child.

What Well Mother does
- We provide training in massage and shiatsu for holistic maternity care for midwives, shiatsu and massage therapists, childbirth educators, and other relevant health professionals.
- Support the links between all of the above groups through newsletters, conferences and other forms of networking.
- Carry out research and support research into the use of massage and shiatsu in maternity care.
- Publish articles, leaflets and books on massage and shiatsu in maternity care.
Courses are available worldwide, taught in English, French, Spanish and Italian. We also have a German interpreter who has taught with Suzanne.
