What is HWCP?
HWCP covers Hartcliffe and Withywood, two post-war housing estates on the southern periphery of Bristol, with a combined population of 18,700, 7,830 households. This represents 5% of Bristol’s total population and over a fifth of the population of Bristol’s priority neighbourhoods.
HWCP is community-led partnership established in 1998 to lead the regeneration and renewal of the local area. It is a limited company, with charitable status and is run by a 19-strong board, the majority of whom are elected local residents.
HWCP is the neighbourhood management delivery agent for the area. It supports local people to get involved in what is happening in the area, gives them a voice and works together with local agencies and organisations, with the aim of making Hartcliffe and Withywood a better place to live and work in. It produces a quarterly newsletter wham! and a community diary.
HWCP manages - a community resource centre with meeting and interview rooms for hire, crèche, office space, ICT access and city council library. is a fully accessible ‘green’ building.
HWCP runs the CATT community transport service.
