In Brief:-

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a profession, which specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions which result from mechanical faults of the joints and muscles and their effects on the nerves.

Our chiropractors appreciate how debilitating back pain, sciatica, neck pain and whiplash can be, and we look forward to helping you, whether your pain is chronic or recent in origin. The Chiropractic profession does not just specialise in the treatment of the back and neck. Our professional team are experienced in dealing with sports injuries and chiropractic treatment methods can also relieve shoulder pain, chest and rib pain. Chiropractic is also an effective way to tackle migraine and headaches, and pain in upper and lower parts of the body such as the arms, feet, hips, legs, knees and ankles. The House Clinic chiropractors are also experienced in alleviating back pain in pregnancy.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is concerned with the assessment, maintenance, and restoration of the physical function and performance of the body. Physiotherapy can be useful in the diagnosis and management of common painful conditions of the back, neck, shoulder and arm.

Physiotherapy helps patients restore normal human movement and regain full activity, for example, after surgery or a sports injury such as tennis or golfers’ elbow, groin strain or hip pain. We commonly provide treatment for a twisted knee where there is ligamentous or cartilage damage. We also increasingly treat work related injuries such as repetitive strain injury (RSI) in the wrists and hands amongst other conditions.

Rehabilitation and Exercise

Rehabilitation Exercise improves the support, flexibility and strength of your muscles and joints, helping to speed recovery and prevent recurrence of your painful condition. Research now emphasizes the importance of exercise in the treatment of neck and back pain focusing on core stability to support the spine. At the House Clinics we design an exercise programme specifically for you and your problem; our team has an exercise specialist, a Pilates Instructor and a Yoga Instructor.

By strengthening your muscles, the problem joints can be stabilised to help avoid recurrence of pain and flare-ups. It also helps to shorten the duration and severity of any episodes of pain when they occur. This helps you to take control and get back to your normal activities.

Rehabilitation stretching exercises will improve your flexibility and our programmes, designed to work with your body’s proprioception, will improve co-ordination and muscle control.
